## Your first thirty days

1. **Week 1: connect sound to meaning.** Use pictures, gestures and tiny scenes. Learn
   greetings, names, numbers to twenty and common sound patterns.
2. **Week 2: build useful sentence frames.** Meet *je suis*, *j’ai*, *je voudrais*,
   *où est* and *est-ce que* in context.
3. **Week 3: hear familiar language in new scenes.** Use short stories about cafés,
   people, homes, days and routines.
4. **Week 4: answer before the model does.** Pause, say the number or short sentence,
   then listen to the answer.

vocabulary or forcing yourself through fast television you cannot follow. Use grammar to
clarify a pattern after you meet it, not as a gate before your first lesson.

## Moving up

Move toward A1 material when you recognise common greetings, give basic personal information,
understand familiar numbers and follow the main action in a simple visual story. Move because
the current level feels understandable, not because the calendar says so.
